200,00 people and left thousands of others wounded and homeless.
- 78% of people live on $2 per day or less.
- 17% of children under 5 are malnourished.
- Only 54% of the population has access to improved water source.
- Only 53% of people over the age of 15 can read or write.
- More than two thirds of the labor force is unemployed.
- 80% live below the poverty line.
